What is Philanthropy New Zealand?

PNZ is the peak body for the philanthropic and grant making sector in Aotearoa. We are a membership organisation comprised of a vast range of organisations and individuals (such as Community Trusts, Community Foundations, Family Foundations, Corporates, Financial Advisors, Individual philanthropists).

We work to grow generosity in New Zealand and support the ever-changing sector with research, collaborations with Government, and by convening strong networks within the sector where ideas, insights, and innovations can be shared and strengthened.

We strive to grow giving, strengthen the sector and systems within it, and celebrate the impact of giving in New Zealand.

What is new for the 2026 Philanthropy Conference?

The Philanthropy Conference 2026 will feel a little different to what you may have experienced at past conferences. You can expect the content to be action-based, inspiring, and new. But you can also expect the experience to be far more collaborative, social, and connected. It will have been two and a half years since the last conference, and we know that people have a lot to talk about. To facilitate this, there will be ample time and space to get down to those fruitful conversations between likeminded people that lead to the biggest change.

What is the Philanthropy Conference?

The Philanthropy Conference is the largest event in the Philanthropic and grant making sector in New Zealand. With an average of 400 attendees made up leading members of the philanthropic sector along with the corporate, government and professional advisory sector for three days of cutting-edge thought leadership, celebration, and connection.

We bring international speakers to share innovation and insight from around the world, as well as delving into the unique Aotearoa culture of giving to our communities and cultural landscape.

Our conferences are a mix of keynote speakers who inspire and spark thought, practical workshops and breakout sessions that dive deep into current issues and methods, and networking events where delegates can reunite, meet, share kai, and have fun.

Who will be at the 2026 Conference?

The entire cross section of the philanthropic sector, including government representatives, the professional advisory sector, and representatives from the community and charitable sectors. There will be CE’s, trustees and chairs, staff, experts, and big thinkers all in one room. This year we aim to have the largest ever international cohort – both speakers, as well as participants.

What are the benefits of this event for the sector and Aotearoa, and for sponsors?

This is our top tier, reserved for organisations that want to make a truly significant impact on the conference and its outcomes. The Visionary Partner brings foresight, leadership, and a commitment to shaping the future of philanthropy. Visionary Partners have a shared long-term goal and a deep investment in the sector's advancement.

The Visionary Partner package allows ten guests from within your organisation (or outside, the choice of guests is yours) to attend the conference (both days) and the celebratory dinner event which will be named exclusively after your organisation.

Your organisation/business’s logo will be highly visible alongside ours on all conference marketing materials, banners at the event, and throughout our promotional materials on social media.

    ·      Your sponsorship will go toward an international keynote speaker attending the conference. Your organisation will be given stage time to introduce this speaker.

Catalyst Sponsor

The Catalyst Sponsor tier is for organisations that want to actively accelerate progress and inspire change within the philanthropic community. The Catalyst Sponsor's contribution will directly lead to dynamic discussions, innovative ideas, and meaningful connections at the conference.

Five people of your choice will receive tickets to the conference (both days) and the and the celebratory dinner event.

You can choose to sponsor a keynote speaker whom you or someone from your organisation will be given stage time to introduce.

The Cornerstone Sponsorship is a solid, foundational contribution that is essential to the conference's success. This tier is for the direct sponsors of the showpiece conference dinner and will be acknowledged as such.

This tier is for the direct sponsors of the showpiece thematic conference breakfasts and will be acknowledged as such.

This tier is for those who wish to sponsor tickets for members of our community who might not otherwise attend due to the ticket price.  We suggest sponsoring 3 or more tickets.
